It's a great place for people who want to detox from city lifestyle. Few highlights of our visit to the Farm Stay:1. Farm Stay: Nice, Spacious Air-conditioned house which can accommodate 10 people. The vegetarian food provided is a must try which is home cooked by 2 elderly women who run this place.2. Activities inside the House: There's no Television ! You have a high speed Wi-Fi available. There are books for all age categories. There are board games like chess and carrom available for use. You can bring board games and play as well.3. Activities outside the House (Farm) :There are farm animals like cows, rabbits, pony, dogs which are super friendly. There is a small pond which is filled with natural freshwater which is completely safe to use. Highly recommend to try as the flooring of the pond is mud which so soft and feels therapeutic. There's a huge farm areas where you can spend your evenings to get fresh air.Would highly recommend this place to travel with friends, family, elderly people and even kids.

I stayed in Vaksana Farms during the last two days with a close group of Business friends as part of our Mastermind. Vaksana is the best place with the right ambience and environment for your corporate retreats, strategy meetings and team bonding events.Kiruba Shankar, his Mom, Dad and Patti are the best hosts who do everything possible to make the stay pleasant and comfortable. As a foodie 😋 I must mention the healthy and yummy food they serve.I loved your farm, family, team, and animals, Kiruba. I am coming back with my family sometime soon.

Amazing place to stay! Food is excellent and hosts are extremely warm and welcoming and go out of their way to provide an optimal experience. Cottages are well-lit, clean and comfortable, and stocked with lots of books. Lots of nature around and temples/attractions to visit. Farm also has many animals, including dogs (that are very friendly and love biscuits) and a horse (who loves carrots). Had an amazing experience and would highly recommend!

This farm is an incredibly special place. We loved our visit and everyone we encountered there went out of their way to ensure we had a great visit. The farm is beautiful and we enjoyed swimming, walking around, and petting the animals. We enjoyed some of the best food of our lives here and can’t wait to return, next time for longer! 2 nights wasn’t enough.

I recently stayed at Vaksana with my family for 2 days and it was an incredible experience! The hospitality provided by the hosts Mr and Mrs Kiruba, his dad, mom and grandmom was truly exceptional and made us feel right at home. They went above and beyond to ensure that we were comfortable and had everything we needed. The food was also amazing - it was fresh, delicious, and prepared with care and so much love. We enjoyed every meal. The care takers were so polite, warm and welcoming - we were literally pampered with love and food.As for the accommodations, we stayed in a cozy cabin that was well-maintained and had all the amenities we needed. It was the perfect place to relax and unwind, surrounded by beautiful nature and stunning views. The pets in the farm - a pony, many cows and a few dogs were super friendly and the kids had so much fun playing with them. They have a natural pond which was a therapeutic experience for the whole family.Overall, I would highly recommend a stay at Vaksana. The warm hospitality, delicious food, and serene surroundings make it an unforgettable experience. We can't wait to come back!"

We have answers

Got questions? We're here to help!

What food do you provide?

We provide cuisine that are well known here in our village. It is healthy, vegetarian food. The vegetables and greens are sourced both from the farm as well as farms that are nearby. Do check out these photos to get an idea of the food we serve.

Can we request for a particular food to be cooked?

The menu is decided by the elderly ladies. We do not take orders for specific food. We are a farmstay and not a resort. Think of it as staying in our house. We encourage you to put your trust in us. You will be  pleasantly surprised.

Who cooks the food?

The delicious, vegetarian village cuisine is cooked by Lakshmi Ammal (who is 89 years old) and Kasthuri Ammal (who is 71 years old). Both are excellent in whipping up lip-smacking delicacies.

We like non-vegetarian food. Can you cook non-veg food for us?

Sorry. We don’t cook non-veg food at the farm.  Trust us when we say that the food that we serve is something that you will relish.

Can we use the kitchen at the farmhouse and cook on our own?

We have stopped self-cooking at the farmhouse. This is because we found it very difficult to maintain the cleanliness of the farmhouse. When one cooks, it is inevitable for the kitchen to get messy. Also, we get guests who are staunch vegetarians. We want to respect all and hence we took the decision against self-cooking.

Can I make barbeque at the farm?

Yes, you can barbecue outside the farmhouse.  (no cooking is allowed inside the farmhouse but barbecuing outside is allowed). For non-vegetarian loving guests, this is a fun option to barbecue under the stars at night.

Are there restaurants close by?

There are small restaurants in the Rettanai village which is 2 kms away. If you want more posher restaurants, then the closest ones are in Tindivanam town which is 15 kms away. We provide healthy, home-cooked food. Why would you want to eat in a restaurant when you get good food at the farm itself? 😊

Can I bring my food from outside?

Technically, you can. While we have restrictions on self-cooking, there is no limitation for you to bring food from outside. But why bother when you get good, clean, organic, healthy food that we cook for you.
