At Vaksana Farms, mornings begin with soft clucks, cheerful quacks, and the rustle of wings. Our animals and birds aren’t just attractions they set the rhythm of farm life. Whether you’re here for a family stay, a school visit, or a team outing, time with them slows you down and gently pulls you into nature.
Early Morning Foragers
If you’re up early, you’ll catch our birds heading out for their daily forage. Ducks paddle to the ponds, chickens scratch the earth for little treats, and turkeys stroll like they own the lanes. It’s calm, unscripted, and surprisingly therapeutic to watch.
Meet Our Feathered Family
Turkeys (White & Black): Big-hearted, curious, and wonderfully expressive. You’ll often see them leading a little parade around the farm.
Chickens: We have beloved native varieties like Naatu Kozhi, Kadaknath, White Kinni Kozhi, and Black Kinni Kozhi each with its own look and personality. Kadaknath is known for its distinctive dark plumage.
Ducks: From White Peking Ducks to Brown/Black Naatu Vathu, Bungalow Vaathu, and Manila Vaathu, our ponds are lively! Ducks are natural entertainers watch them line up, splash, and chatter.
Gentle Characters You’ll Remember
Ask for Parattai, our sheep with main-character energy. Kids adore feeding and brushing sessions, and Parattai happily soaks up the attention. Moments like these turn a regular stay into a memory your family will talk about for years.
Why Animals & Birds Matter to the Vaksana Experience
Hands-on learning: Children discover where food comes from, how birds forage, and why every creature has a role in a healthy farm.
Mindful moments: Feeding a duck or holding a calm chicken can be grounding—even for grown-ups.
Community feeling: Guests often end up naming a favorite bird, leaving notes for future visitors to “meet them,” and swapping stories at dinner.
What You Can Do Here
Guided Feeding Time: Learn how to feed ducks and chickens safely.
“Bird Detective” Walks: Spot the differences between breeds and listen for the farm’s morning soundtrack.
Egg Collecting (Seasonal): A big hit with kids gentle hands, big smiles.
Pond Time with Ducks: Watch their quirky routines and little races across the water.
Photo Moments: Golden hour is magic soft light, happy birds, perfect family photos.
For School Visits
We create age-wise modules:
Primary: Meet-and-greet, safe feeding, simple “What do birds eat?” activity.
Middle School: Bird behavior, foraging patterns, water cycles around our ponds.
Higher Secondary: Sustainable farming, native breeds, biodiversity and soil health.
Teachers tell us students leave curious, calmer, and surprisingly talkative (in a good way!).
For Corporate & Family Groups
Animal time is a natural ice-breaker. Teams bond over shared tasks like feeding, water-refilling, or building simple perches. Families love slow afternoons watching ducks glide while grandparents relax under the trees.
Season Highlights
Monsoon: Ponds brim, ducks thrive, and the farm glows green perfect for bird-watching.
Cooler Months: Long walks, warm meals, and relaxed animal routines you can join without breaking a sweat.
Gentle Farm Etiquette
We keep interactions kind and calm. Our team will guide you on safe, respectful handling and feeding so both guests and animals feel comfortable.
