Maya Ganesh is a leading voice in regenerative agriculture and education for sustainability (EfS), with an inspiring journey that bridges the corporate world and the socio-environmental sector. Her expertise includes creating food forests using wild, forgotten, and uncultivated flora, using more hardy perennials along with annuals, and establishing live seed banks for community seed-saving efforts. Her work promotes conservation agriculture, food security and sovereignty, and circular systems through innovative waste management solutions.

From consulting on edible landscapes for restaurants, landowners and farmers, working on derelict land, to mentoring educators, bringing about a transformative change in education via school garden pedagogies, academic research on socio-environmental issues and rural-urban linkages, and journalistic writing, Maya’s work is deeply grounded in ecological wisdom, practical implementation, and community empowerment in India, UK, and Peru
