Plogging at Vaksana

At Vaksana Farms, we believe in the golden rule: Leave a place better than you found it. That’s why we encourage all our guests to take part in Plogging—a fun, easy, and satisfying way to give back to nature while getting your daily steps in!

What’s Plogging?

Plogging is a fancy Swedish term that simply means picking up litter while jogging or walking.

Our Chief Plogger, Kiruba Shankar (a.k.a. the owner of the farm), does this every single time he steps out for a walk. And now, it’s your turn to join the movement!

How You Can Help (and Earn Some Good Karma!)

Pick up plastic while you walk—whether it’s inside the farm or along the village roads. Bonus points if you spot something before Kiruba does!
Pack consciously—the less plastic you bring, the less waste we create.
Take back your non-biodegradable waste (plastic wrappers, bottles, tins). Since Rettanai village doesn’t have a proper waste disposal system, carrying it back to the city ensures it lands in the right bin.
Compost, not waste! All biodegradable waste at Vaksana Farms is composted and turned into rich manure for our trees. Nature loves a good recycling story!

Why Do This?

You get a free workout while saving the planet. Win-win!
You’ll feel weirdly satisfied seeing the place cleaner than when you arrived.
Your Instagram stories will make you look like an eco-warrior. (Hashtag it #PloggingAtVaksana!)
Future visitors will thank you for making their stay even more beautiful.

So next time you step out for a walk at Vaksana Farms, carry a small bag and a big heart—and let’s make your vacation a soulfulling occasion by creating a cleaner, greener place!
