Every fruit and vegetable is handpicked at the perfect stage of ripeness. They’re washed in clean well water, sun-dried, and brought to our kitchen the very same day, keeping the freshness intact.
Traditional Recipes, Timeless Taste
Once the produce reaches our farmhouse kitchen, Kasthuri Amma and her team begin the age-old process of pickle making. Every jar is made in small batches to ensure authentic homemade flavor.
Here’s what goes into our pickles:
- Farm-fresh ingredients: Raw mango, lemon, garlic, gooseberry, or gongura leaves
- Spices: Mustard seeds, fenugreek seeds, turmeric powder, and red chili powder, all freshly ground by hand
- Salt: Natural rock salt, sun-dried and added in precise proportions
- Oil: Pure cold-pressed sesame oil (nallennai) from our local supplier, known for its rich aroma and long shelf life
No preservatives, no artificial colors, and definitely no shortcuts, only time, sunlight, and love.
Sun-Cured Goodness
After the spices and oil are perfectly mixed, the pickles are stored in traditional glass jars and kept under the warm Vaksana sun for a few days. This natural sun-curing helps the ingredients absorb the flavors deeply and enhances the taste over time.
During this period, the air around our farmhouse carries a delightful aroma — tangy mango, spicy chili, and the earthy smell of sesame oil, a scent that everyone at the farm loves!
